ABS Boards FAQ
Is ABS the same as foam board?
No. ABS is a denser plastic board. It is tougher and more durable than foam board (Forex), and better when the board will be handled a lot or used in tougher environments.
Which thickness should I choose?
0.9 mm: Best for smaller mounted graphics and short campaigns. 1.5 mm: A practical balance for most retail and event signs. 2 mm: Extra body for A2 and larger, and for boards that are handled often.
Is ABS suitable outdoors?
It handles sheltered outdoor use better than foam. For prolonged exposed outdoor campaigns, ask us about Correx or another weather-appropriate material.
How should I prepare artwork?
Supply print-ready artwork at finished size plus 3 mm bleed on every edge, preferably as a CMYK PDF. Keep text at least 5 mm inside the finished edge. The live preview shows exactly how your file sits on the board.
What if my file is a different shape to the board?
The preview shows the difference in millimetres. Choose Fit whole design to keep everything with a white border, Fill the board to trim the edges, or match the board size to your file.
Can you design it for me?
Yes. Select Design for me and our team will contact you for your brief. The design service adds exactly R500 ex VAT to the order.
Can large boards be couriered?
Courier is available up to A0. Larger boards must be collected from the selected Cape Town location to reduce the risk of transit damage.
Do I pay courier on every item?
No. Each product page shows a delivered price, but when you courier more than one eligible item they ship together in one parcel. Your cart re-prices the courier once for the combined weight and shows the saving before you pay.
