Pantone colours explained
Spot colours for exact brand matching when CMYK isn’t accurate enough.
5 min read · Updated July 2026
What Pantone is
Pantone (PMS) is a standardised spot-colour system. Each colour has a code that can be matched more consistently than hoping a CMYK mix looks identical everywhere.
When to use it
Use Pantone when logo or packaging colour must stay exact. Spot colours may add cost versus standard CMYK — chat to us if your brand requires it.
